Take Action: Submit Individual Comments on OMB’s Proposed Federal Grant Rule

Home / News
AAPM is partnering with the American Physical Society (APS) to help members submit individual comments to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on its proposed changes to federal grant rules. The proposal could significantly affect how federal research grants are reviewed, awarded, managed, and terminated, with implications for medical physics research conducted at universities, hospitals, academic medical centers, and other institutions. Individual, substantive comments are important in the federal rulemaking process, especially when they include specific examples from a researcher’s own work rather than duplicative form letters.

Members are encouraged to use the APS comment platform to submit comments in their own voice. The platform includes a comment builder with issue areas related to grant review and the politicization of science, international collaborations, professional activities and affiliations, broadening participation and workforce development, and an open-comment option.
